Our regular feature where we get to know someone a little bit better

Many of you will know Emma from the Regency Hall – she’s the one with the beautiful long auburn hair. Emma is also the compiler of the fabulous Digital Scrapbooks (which, if you haven’t seen yet, you absolutely must – they’re in the Video section of this Facebook Group).

Where were you born? I was born in Edgbaston, West Midlands. I also spent a short time living in Bourneville where the chocolate is made – the smell of chocolate from Cadburys was delightful. Maybe that’s why I love chocolate now!
What do you do for living? I am the Administration & Marketing Manager for the Regency Hall in Saundersfoot. I really do enjoy my job, from the daily running of the hall to the large events held there. Each day is different and varied, certainly not boring.
What other job(s) do you think you’d be really good at and why? I love animals. My husband is from a farming family, so think I’d really enjoy running a Small Breeds Farm & Visiting Centre.
How long have you been in the area? I’ve been here 38 years – which seems like forever (in a good way!). I grew up in Plantation Cottage, Bevlin Hall until the day I got married.
Tell us a bit about your family I’ve been married to Lee Price for 26 years. I have two children, Ryan who is 24, and Lauren 22. I have lots of family in the area – my parents, in-laws, sisters, nieces and nephews all live nearby – it’s lovely.
Who inspires you? Emmeline Pankhurst – if I was alive in those days I think I would have been part of the suffragette movement.
Do you speak any languages (other than English!)? I speak a little bit of Welsh and French.
What do you do in your downtime? I love meeting up with friends, listening to music and ancestry. I’m currently researching my husband’s family the Prices. He was born in Knighton in mid Wales and last year I discovered that he was related to neighbours that we have been friends with for 15 years!! It’s a small world!
What three things make you happy? Family, friends and travel.
What is your favourite meal? Vegetable Lasagne, salad and a nice glass of Pinot Grigio.
Tell us something that most people won’t know about you I’m ambidextrous and I’m colour blind.
Do you have any pets? Yes – Max a Westie who is nearly 14years old and Rex a tabby cat (aka the Boss!!).
What is your worst habit? I like to plan ahead, which means I can be a little ‘too organised’, although being in lock down I’ve learnt to chill a bit more.
What are you reading right now? The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. I watched the film, but I’ve been told that the book is much better.
What are you looking forward to? Seeing my family. Then when we are finally allowed to travel, I’m looking forward to a trip to Cardiff Bay for a quiet drink and to people watch in the sun.
What three words would you use to describe yourself? Haha – I asked my husband and he said ‘Fiery redhead who’s mellowed with age (a few more than three words, sorry!). My three words: Helpful, sociable and caring.
What is your favourite part of the world (other than Saundersfoot of course!)? We visited Florence last year. It was absolutely stunning, full of culture, good food and lovely people. We can’t wait to revisit.
And finally, just for fun
Crisps or chocolate? Chocolate
Wine or beer? Wine (see above!)
Coffee or tea? Tea, I need three cups to function in the morning

Thanks Emma x
