Keeping the community connected
WELCOME
Saundersfoot Connect was originally started in March 2020 as a Facebook group set up by four friends who live in the village, Sarah Whiddett, Sara Hicks, Jackie Taylor & Ladan Harper. Its aim was to support residents and business owners in the village during the Coronavirus lockdown. The group’s overarching mantra was, and still is, that people should only post to the group’s social media page if they could answer three questions with a positive answer:
is it kind, is it true, is it useful?

Initially intended to offer information and to keep people company (albeit online) the group quickly grew to a fabulous online community of presently over 7,300 members, full of positive, fun and informative posts. The four girls had no idea just how successful it would be.
It became so big in fact that the Admin team grew too with additional friends joining the four girls as running the group had became rather a full-time job! Behind the scenes there is also now Brigitte Robinson, Mandy Ryan, Rhianydd Jones-Foster and Cheryl Badham along with many other local people (too many to name personally) who contribute to the success of this thriving community group when help is needed. From supplying a webcam, doing a litter pick or painting bollards in the village, it seems there’s very little that Saundersfoot village community can’t do when it puts it’s mind to it!
Aware that not everyone uses Facebook – and needing a place to store the huge amount of information that was being collated into an easily accessible format – Sara & Sarah (known locally as Sarah with the blue hair & Sara without an aitch) along with more than a little help from Guy Willett from Pembrokeshire Web Design, set up this website which they hoped would be useful to all, not just during the pandemic but in the future too as we found our new ‘normal’ and continued to support one another in our fabulous community.
You’ll find a wealth of information on here, together with a viewable link to our Facebook group (no need to join Facebook, you can just enjoy the contents of our page as it scrolls on by), regular updates and news.
We hope you enjoy the Saundersfoot Connect website. Please get in touch if you’d like to see anything added, spot anything that’s not working quite right or have any ideas about new things you’d like to make happen.

So for now, stay safe, be kind and stay connected!
