The Summer Reading Challenge is back! The idea is that children aged four and up can register and receive a sticker poster and when they take out at least two books they get a sheet of stickers plus something else. Do this three times and they get a certificate! The theme this year is Wild World Heroes and we have a lovely collection of nature-themed books available for borrowing, but any book borrowed will count. We still won’t be able to do any events this year but there will be limited numbers of craft activity packs for children to do at home. These will available during the school holidays.
Readers of Lucinda Riley’s Seven Sisters series may have been shocked to hear of the author’s recent death; however, she had completed the eighth and final book in the series, Atlas: The Story of Pa Salt, and it will be published next year. The seventh book, The Missing Sister, is in libraries and is currently on loan to people in the reservation queue.
Borrowers can currently reserve two books, with no charge; these could be books from other branches, or books which are not in stock. The locations and availability of books can be checked on the online catalogue at https://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/libraries-and-culture, or speak to a member of staff.
From Monday 19th July we will not be quarantining books anymore in line with Welsh Government guidelines, so any books returned will be dealt with on the same day. However, any returns should still go into the drop box.
Printing is available at Saundersfoot Library for a small charge. The public computer is sanitised after every use, although if you wish to wipe the keyboard and mouse before use wipes are available. We can only take payment in cash.
